How I got 15k followers on Instagram

 

How to get more Instagram followers? Since I reached the 15,000-subscriber mark on my Instagram account, I am asked more and more often. Today I would like to answer them once and for all! It will not bring you any beneficial engagement. I don't think there is a secret recipe or that we can do this by crossing our arms, but I think some of my tips could help you increase your engagement on this social network!

Have a short and catchy biography!

In mine, I talk about my studies, since it is the main subject of my Instagram. I also wrote my email address and where I live since this question is asked very often.

Post photos regularly 

I post about 1 photo per day, but you can post up to 3. Don't be pushy or your followers will stop following you.

Have a balanced number of subscriptions and subscribers

It is very important to have more subscribers than subscriptions! This can be great when you have small numbers (up to 600, maybe), but an account that follows 2000 people and has 5 subscribers, that's kind of weird! And many people will not want to follow such an account, including me. Keep your numbers balanced.

It is possible to find publications through rental. Thus, if you specify a certain location when you post your images, they will be able to reach even more people!

Tell a story, be personal, yourself 

On Instagram, it's not just the perfect beautiful photos that drive engagement with our followers. I think we have to tell a story through our photos. Talk about your successes, your failures, what appeals to you, etc.

Use "a lot" of hashtags!

Write at least 15 hashtags. The maximum allowed on Instagram is 60 (30 in the caption, and 30 in comments). However, I do not recommend doing this, you could be considered spam by Instagram. And we must not exaggerate! It is not recommended to use hashtags with too many posts, for example "unsteadily", since it hardly brings any visibility since it is overused. Use hashtags in your language having around 200k photos, this way your photos will stay longer. long at the top of the list of new posts in a hashtag search.

Identify other Instagram accounts on your photos, when applicable 

I do not identify anyone if this does not apply. On the other hand, if a notebook that I bought on Amazon is in a photo that I publish, well I'll tag Amazon on the book, for example. This gives you more visibility, since people who visit the Amazon account will be able to see your post in Amazon tags. You can also tag "repost" accounts, that is, accounts that only repost photos of others. They will receive a notification and will be more likely to see your photo, and who knows, repost it. By reposting your photo, they must give you the credit, so tag your account in the photo caption. This will allow you to gain a few additional subscribers.

 Be active with the community

Interact with accounts similar to yours

Interacting with others means networking on the social network: writing comments on other people's photos, responding to their stories, liking their photos, etc.! For several weeks, I spent over an hour a day writing comments and liking photos from accounts similar to mine - when you're on public transit, it's a great time! Even today, when I take the time to do this, I clearly see a difference: I have more likes and new subscribers on these days.

Reply to all private messages 

Okay, I'm writing that point, but again there are two sides to the coin: I reply to all my private messages, even to almost 30,000 subscribers today. In a world where engagement with your photos is so important, I find it even more important to stay close to your followers and respond to them as much as possible. It's important to me anyway, on the other hand, I know that at one point it can be difficult. I often reply to my messages in "batch". The other side of the coin on this point would be that sometimes, having a mysterious side (not answering questions), I have the impression that it can sometimes work in our favor ... The choice is yours!

Subscribe to hashtags related to your niche  

It's a great way to discover new accounts, but also to interact with members of your community or topic on Instagram. You will therefore be able to allow them to discover your account by being active’s regularly on your favorite hashtags!

This allows you to get closer to your subscribers, but also to make you known a little more to people who visit your profile and are still wondering if they will subscribe to your account or not!

This is another way to find your account on Instagram. If you don't want this always displayed, you can hide the hashtags and your location under your text in the story.

Make your stories prettier with apps

I have yet to experiment with this, but there are plenty of apps for your cell phone now that allow you to create really interesting little animated videos to further engage your followers. This can be very handy for example if you want them to "swipe up"!  Having a story that catches the eye is always a winner.
